Together with the Alexandria Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and the Arlington Bicycle Advisory Committee, the BAC is organizing the first regional summit of citizen policy advisors.
The summit takes place from 1 to 5:30 p.m. on June 9 at at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel, 2800 S Potomac Ave., Arlington. It is free and open to the public.
The purpose is to identify cross-jurisdictional actions to make biking safer and more enjoyable.
Participants will develop prioritized action plans in three areas:
1. Trails and Wayfinding. Develop standards that would eliminate unnecessary differences across the region for key features such as emergency reporting and wayfinding.
2. Connected Networks. Develop a prioritized set of infrastructure changes and associated actions for the top three gap-filling projects.
3. Safe Streets Tool Kit. Safe streets successes and lessons learned, i.e, “What will help me get home or to work safely?”
